: Whenever you turn on either of the outside faucets..you hear a loud whining in the pipes..is there anything I can do to stop this irritating noise?Replace the hose bibb with one that gives full flow. The problem your having is most lightly is Velocity noise. A lot of tmes people install a boiler drain as opposed to a hose bibb type of valve and the opening is much smaller and this is what causes the whistling sounds. Sylvan
