    : To all ]This pipe is bad all the way around….mine hasnt lasted 35 years. instead something like 20…maybe its the wet winters and spring and the environment associated with lake….does anyone know whether there is a class action lawsuit against this stuff…..surely, the US government didnt expect this stuff to fail in 20 to 30 years….who expects to have their sewer dug up in this timeframe….:To Kent, : Thats a pretty goodlong time for orange to last. : To answer the question first,YES you have to dig it up. : ALL of it, heres why. : Orangeburg is a bituminus fiber pipe what happens : to it is that it starts to close off the inside : walls of the pipe expand inward like a dry sponge : taking on water. : Have dug up many sewers laid with such pipe. : Replace with 6 schedule 35, or 4 schedule 40.: Mark Tiernan
