: Lately, weve been hearing a humming noise in our walls that lasts for a couple of minutes each time we run hot water and wondered whether we got some air in the water heater. : Would it help to drain some water out?mcomes–is this name that tune? There could be a number of things causeing this: the most common is hot water lines expand(when hot) and contract(as they cool). Also a valve washer could be loose somewhere on the supply line. Sometimes pressure balanced valves will do this and tobe taken apart and cleaned up. good luck!
