Robert: Your water heater is doing this because its starved for attention. Make it a point to occasionaly thank your heater for the long and faithful service that it has provided over the years. Dont be to obvious or condescending while trying to patch up the rift that has developed. A sincere Thanks alot will do wonders to improve the spotty performance you have alluded to. Remember: A thankless task like heating water for years, with out so much as a Good Morning could make even a Saint a little testy from time to time……BudMy 8 year old Hoyt 50 gallon gas water heater about once every two weeks does not produce heated water in the morning. What is causing this?
