: The only things you can do are to either: re-sheetrock the room, or skim coat a new finish onto the existing sheetrock. There is no way to remove the tile without damaging the wall, except where the tile is coming loose, and that is where the adhesive stays on the wall. And there is also no way to get the adhesive off without damaging the surface.: : I am taking old tile off the walls in the bathroom & plan to wall paper. When the tiles are coming off either they leave an adhesive on the dry wall behind, or the dry wall is being torn .: : Questions: : : 1). What is the best way to remove the tile and prepare the wall for papering? : : 2). What to do about the adhesive from the tile. : : 3).
