: I had a back-up/clog, the Rotor-Rooter man said my main sewer line from the house to the tank is Orangeburg. It now has a 10-15 inch hole in it where he put the snake in. he strongly suggested I replace the entire line. Is this a valid recommendation? Why cant I just repair the damaged section? He just laid some tin over it and covered it with dirt.YES that was good advice!! once that kind of pipe starts falling apart-its nothing but trouble. if you deceide to repair it, install a clean out for easy access.
