: Im installing a tub in a converted bathroom on a second floor with a poured concrete floor which were reluctant to cut into. Theres a pre-existing toilet drain in place we can drain into but we need to put a in a trap. We plan to do this by building the tub up onto a platform but want to keep it as low as possible. Is there an alternative to the p-trap that doesnt take up so much vertical space? (the 2 trap takes up 7) Some sort of one-way, in-line valve or is this just wishful thinking?try using 1 1/2 trap with end outlet tub waste this will save you a few inches. any oneway device will plague you with stoppage from hair etc
