: i just purchaced an older home. there are s-traps under all 3 sinks. the system seems to be working ok, but my home inspector advised to convert to p-traps. do i really need to change and if so, what has to be done besides changing over the traps. : thanks, bill cA LOT to do it right. P traps would have to be vented to perform as p traps should. You may add something called a auto vent to break siphon in s trap, but unless you have an odor problem,I would leave them alone. good luck
