: I am purchasing a house in Lake Forest Ca. The copper main that leads to the preasure reducer is imbedded in croncrete and has direct contact with the concrete. Is this code? I have been told that the copper should have some kind of sleve around it so that it does not have direct contact with the concrete Copper tube embedded in concrete withuot protection is a no no. The addetives in concrete will eat out the copper tube if it is not sleeved or wrapped to insulate it. Most plumbing codes have this clause in them. Chech with your local water authority. If it is a problem can you dicuss it with the current owners.
