: I recently purchased a house that had been vacant for : approximately one year. There is an odor in the : house that I believe is the result of a poor plumbing system. When the toilet was removed, the smell fumagated the surrounding areas outside and became more pronounced in the house as well. Has anyone experienced such a problem before and what is causing this? How can I get rid of the awful odor? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Hi ThereAs previously mentioned to you….The water traps have evaporated. If you flush some water down all the drains in the house, I think your problem will go away. Dont forget any floor drains as well….about a pail ful or two will do.
