First thing I would do is replace the steel clips with plastic as that is more compatable with the pipe. Hot water pipes can creak when rigidly fixed as there is nowhere for it to expand. The jolting could be water hammer but this is not usually a problem in plastic piping.: I am having a problem in that the pvc water lines in my homes attic make noise when the water is turned on. The noises are any thing from creaks o sharp jolts and literally sound like the walls and pipes are expanding to the point of breaking. These pipes are only two years old. Upon inspection, I noticed that the pipes are secured to the wood beams that run across the ceiling and secured by metal clamps. Could this be why there is so much noise? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.: C. Villalon : villalon@hiline.net
