: : This heater only heats enough water for about a ten minute shower with a water restrictor shower head. But if you wait 30 min. it heats enough water for a 25 min. shower. I have already replaced the thermocoupler and no change. The question is….do I replace the whole heater or anodes or what? There is a mistake on my original email address. This is the correct one… jiloa@rmi.net : Respecfully,DaveHELLO, DAVE!!Sounds like you are having the same problem as about 5,000 folks every day in the USA — worthless @#$@%&* cheap plastic Dip Tubes. [They are supposed to take the incoming cold water and out it down t at the tanks bottom to be heated. If cracked or broken, they aloow shorting of the cold water over to the hot water outlet.] Then you get about 3 – 5 gallons of hot to warm water before it turns ice cold. I always recommend buying a copper tube, flaring the upper end and drilling a small (1/8) hole in the upper end, and installing it in the cold water inlet (after disposing of the cheap plastic remnants of the old one). The copper will last forever in the tank. Now, about the anode you mentioned. Its purpose is to protect the tank from rusting. If you havent replaced it and the warranty is expired, I would do so immediately. [No since having a good dip tube in a failed tank, right?] Any Qs, e-mail me.GOOD LUCK!!!DARREL
