the usual problems are: the water is going through the heater too fast to be heated, the flame is not hot enough, or the coil is limed up so that heat transfer does not occur. You can check the burner by observing the gas usage while it is running. The other two are harder because the same tests apply to both of them and it is hard to differentiate between the problems.: I have an old Valiant Geyser, gas hot water heater. Heats water on the fly.: The water pressure is good, the gas lights up OK when turning the hot water taps on, there are no leaks in the system, but the water just wont get hot.: I have one adjusting knob, which does not alter the size of the gas flames, it sounds like it restricts the flow of water thru the system. But even this is not enough.: Ive tried adjusting the gas pressure regulator from one extreme to the other and this does not alter the flames height or do anything that I can see.: Can anyone suggest what the problem is ? : Thank you, : Gary
