A faulty spray unit is the most likely cause of this. When the water does not come out of the spout, press the hose lever and see if water ocmes out of it. If you do not have a hose unit look at the bottomof the faucet,(inside the cabinet at the top of the sink and see if there is a square head plug there. You may have a spray faucet with the spray removed. If so, the diverter is probably still installed and is not working properly. If this is the case, remove the spout and you will probably find a slotted item inside the faucet. Use a screwdriver to remove it and reinstall the spoout and see if it works. The diverter unit is not really essential even if you have a spray hose. You can remove it and the spray will still work, the water will just run from the spout also, which it may do now.: My house is only 6 year old. When I open kitchen faucet for water, it is moody. Some times water wont come at all. If you keep opened, water may come after 3 or 4 minutes. At times, there wont be any peoblem. : What shoud I do?
