You need an ejector pump and basin. The existing drainage would be connected to its basin (sump) and then the pump would lift the sewage to drain into the regular house system.: Everything I am finding on the Net about Sumps and sump pumps is relative to basement seepage. I need to know how to pump out sewage from a basement bathroom. We have just moved into a house with a finished basement. The basement restroom has its own septic tank, but it has already backed up twice in the three weeks we have lived there. The tank has been professionally cleaned twice in the last 6 months. I was told that it was probably installed without proper approval because it will never drain properly due to the shallow-to-none grade elevation. The only solution I see is to install a sump/pump system, but I know nothing about this — not even how to spot a qualified installer or know if I am getting quality equipmpent. What can you suggest?
