: Relatively new toilet wont flush. Got worse and worse and finally overflowed after a week or so. Wants to overflow now all the time. Removed it, examined for obstruction, replaced wax gasket. Checked main line and its clear as a bell. Vent is free and clear. After lotsa plugging with plummers friend, itll flush a load after three tries. Seems to be obstructed, but cant find a thing… Any ideas?? Thanks in advance. Murray, The toilet has something in the trap. Whether you find it or not is another matter. In a case like yours, I remove the toilet to the outdoors and use a close auger from both ends of it. In worst case (and considering the problem occurred in the first place) replacement becomes an option. Consider the pressure assisted toilets that come highly recommended. I like the Gerber toilets, sold by plumbing contractors, ( not the depot stores )Regards, Terry Love
