Hi there. I’m doing some reno work and smashed a number of copper pipes and old fittings when hammering. Sprung leaks everywhere.

Can I replace the copper 15mm with plastic pipe from Bunnings ??

And 20mm (only from HW tank to shower) with plastic pipe ??

Or should I replace with copper.??

    Thanks

Since you are mentioning metric piping I’m to assume you are non-us.

That being said, why would you want to mix up materials instead of putting back copper? Price or not, using different materials other than what was in the home firsthand creates a hardship for the next tradesman along with cheapening the work detail, property value.

Given the unstable properties of plastic water piping years after install, I suggest going back to copper to provide good workmanship. If it was a plastic water line system to begin with, I’d stay with plastic.

    Copper, stay copper.
