Pressure type PVC is not meant to be able to dry fit it. The ID of the fittings decreases as you go into the fitting.
Only apply the correct type and amount of ‘glue’ in the proper way. Too much or not enough is is a problem. Check with the manufacture of both the tubing and /cleaner/primer/cement for what is proper.
