Measure and mark the pipe with the fitting along side it where the stop line is in the fitting. Apply the solvent cement to both the pipe exterior and the interior of the fitting, push pipe firmly into fitting and hold still for 30 seconds or so till the glue sets.
The pipe will slide easily into the fitting when the solvent cement is applied.
Do not apply working pressure to PVC pipework until after the glue’s curing time (written on the glue container).
