Open the wall where the drain is and insulate the walls surrounding the pipes.
In some elegant homes, they are resorting to cast-iron stacks to dampen the sound of water travelling down the pipes.
It seems like a good idea. Can’t knock cast-iron though, some of that piping will still be in use long after I’m gone.
