    thermostat is bad….. it is sticking dude. There are 2 of them on your heater. An upper and a lower. It dose not matter the name brand of the heater or the gallon ammount. turn off the elec. to the heater and replace the thermostats…. be sure you have the power SHUT OFF! I hope this helps out.
