Sometimes Antiques fixtures or other China ware like vitreous China can be repaired / salvaged with several types of epoxy’s on the market.
May times the have casting defects and stress cracks.
If money is an issue and you cannot afford a new fixture go out and get Hercules Proxy from a local plumbing supply and just follow directions.
You may find just buying a tank cost almost as much as a tank and bowl.
