Construction starts on Mount Kuring – gai sewerage scheme

Sydney Water Managing Director, Kerry Schott today announced that construction on the Mount Kuring-gai Industrial Estate Sewerage Scheme is underway.

“This scheme will deliver a number of benefits to the local community and the environment,” Dr Schott said.

“It will improve the health of the local waterways by replacing on-site septic systems with a modern reticulated sewerage system.

Access agreement makes way for competition

Opening up Sydney Water’s services to competition is one step closer with Sydney Water’s Board of Directors approving the indicative terms and conditions for access to Sydney Water’s sewer network.

Sydney Water Managing Director Kerry Schott said this is the first time in Australia that water and wastewater pipelines and related infrastructure are being made available for access.

Planning for the new sewerage scheme for residents of Glossodia, Freemans Reach and Wilberforce is moving ahead quickly with the preferred service option to be put on public display early next month.

The proposed Glossodia, Freemans Reach and Wilberforce Sewerage Scheme is part of the NSW Government’s Priority Sewerage Program.

Water Week a reminder to save water

To celebrate National Water Week, Sydney Water and Bunnings are partnering up for a water saving weekend on 27 and 28 October.

Sydney Water will be at Bunnings stores distributing water saving kits, and providing information on the Love Your Garden Program and other water conservation programs.
