Since about mid april I have been getting a strong sewer gas odor coming from my Sewage Pump in the basement. This only happens during and after a very hard rain. The pump has a discharge and a vent pipe and a rubber grommet with two power cords through it. When it rains I can feel air emitting from around the power cords and a slit that is used to slide the power cords on to the grommet. It seems the system becomes pressurized only when it rains. : The plumer that installed the system has no idea why it is doing this. : Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
