: Im looking for stories about 1.6 toilets from plumbers and homeowners view points. Are they workable? Do many homeowners take their toilets with them when they move? Do the 1.6 toilets save water? Is it illegal to install the old toilets that require more water to flush? Will we go back to the older toilets? Comments may be used in a newspaper story. I look forward to hearing from you. Ed Hi Ed. 1.6 toilets are the law in NYC and I was fortunate to be part of the greater NYC WC change out program Yes 1.6 toilets work BUT not all brands are created Equal. I have personally installed over 1,500 toilets and had only ONE CALL BACK. Rather than take a chance of being sued for naming all the lousy brands out there ILL just tell you the one brand that gave me no trouble what so ever. CRANE toilets in MY PROFESSIONAL OPINION are the best toilet money can buy PERIOD!! They cost me under $59 ea and the ones that cost 10 times more not only never worked properly and make noise but are just plain GARBAGE. Before I installed the 1.6 toilets for any of my victims (accounts) I did put one one my office and tested it like crazy. I mean real world testing not the class room or factory tests. I put paper towels/ kitty litter and anything else a Normal house hold would throw down a toilet. The Crane took everything I threw down it. too bad the expensive guys didnt think of the basics. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). Saving water is the right thing to do.You do not need 3.5 gallons to do it. If you need more input please contact my web and I will answere you to the best of my ability. Respectifuly SylvanLMP
