Reply To: Leaking and corroded cold water pipe for water heater

The pipe was not completely tightened and a small leak has existed. Not enough to show wate drops, but enough to rust the pipe. If it is an original pipe, then it may have just rusted out.: I have a 3 year old water heater, and the cold water : pipe going into the house is corroded and leaking. : I had a water heater for 15 years before this and the : pipe never corroded. Why causes this?
