Coal is the best heating fuel….thats if your not a lazy person. Lets copare #4 oil with Anthracite coal. Oil has more sulfur, volatile matter and produces more NOx than coal. Gas Produes the highest amount of NOS out of the fossil fuels and is more dangerous. With coal, the building just seems more cozier.

Thats assuming you get complete combustion.
