for the last couple of months the pipes in my rented house have been making very load moaning noises, usually when a kitchen or bathroom tap is turned off. Sometimes the vibrations are so strong, the floor vibrates! It does not happen every time, but on occasion can be very loud and seem to go on forever. The only way to stop the noise is to turn on another tap. Then there is no guarantee that the noise will stop once the tap is turned off again. The house I live in is very old, as is the plumbing. My landlord insists that the noise is due to building work up the road because the area I live in has a very old water system. I think its probably because the pipes in the house are so old. I dont think my landlady wants to spend any money! What do you think??
