Im about to replace my 12 year old gas water heater in my attic. Heres my concern… Its in my attic! My neighbor just had a seal break and flooded his entire house. And his was in the garage at floor level. Mine is in the attic over a hallway attached to all 3 bedrooms. I really want to minimize the possibility of a flood. Can anyone recommend the best product for this application? Is there not a cheap shutoff valve that can be triggered if water is detected near the base of the water heater? This whole broken seal on water heater, flooded house thing seems way too common to me.Thanks,Ed
