I replaced the relief valve on water heater becauce it was leaking,heater is only 6mos old,as soon as it filled up it began to leak again.Turned inlet valve down to just a little water entered the tank but as soon as it filled it leaked again.Any suggestions are greatfully accepted. heater is 50gal electric

Ive replaced many T & P valves and never had a new one leak. But if I did, I would flick that little lever up and down a few times. If it still leaked, Id take it back and tell the store it was defective. Of course, there may be something I dont know…In other words, I might be wrong.
