I have an ejection pump (21 inche diameter) and it is connected to my sewer. However, are ejection pumps self venting? My ejection pump is not vented to outside air. It has a small piece of PVC coming up from the ejection pump which is used for ventilation. My check valve wnet bad and I replaced it, however, I never smelled anything in my basement near the pump previously. I am now smelling, what I believe to be, methane gas near the unit.
