I am installing a bath in my basement and all I have to work for my toilet drain is a 3 tee with a 3 to 2 adapter off the direction I need to attach. I believe I need to cut the 2 pipe, remove the adapter and connect the new 3 PVC pipe to the belled end of the 3 tee. I dont know how to get out the adapter, clean out the bell, or attach the PVC. Any ideas?

You need to melt the lead out of the joint to remove the adapter. You do not have to clean out the bell, because you will have to lead a piece of 3 cast-iron pipe into it before you can connect the PVC. This is a job for a plumber since you do not have the lead melting tools, the running rope, nor the experience to make a horizontal lead joint.I am installing a bath in my basement and all I have to work for my toilet drain is a 3 tee with a 3 to 2 adapter off the direction I need to attach.
