The problem could be the pressure switch but usually I find that when the pump both starts late and stops late it is caused by the 1/4 pipe that the pressure switch is on being plugged up. this will keep the water from traveling freely through resulting in a delay at both ends of the cycle. Also check the fitting that the 1/4 nipple is screwed into. It will often plug up in there as well.: I have a private well with a submerged pump. This situation began when the relief valve was relieving at about 40 psi. I replaced that and now my pressure goes from 17 psi. to 80 + psi. I believe the pressure switch is a Pumptrol brand and I noticed the two adjustment nuts.: My question is do I have a bad switch now or do I just need to adjust it? If I need to adjust it, which is on and which is off (big or little spring), and which way do I turn for high and lower pressure?: Any help would be appreciated.
