: What could be the cause of a strange, sweetish odor coming from the bathroom sink?the possible cause of the odor could be soap scum, etc. build up in the overflow holes on the top, near the rim of your sink. to remedy the problem, use a turkey baster, fill it with bleach, x-14, or something similiar, and flush the holes out.
