The joint I soldered sprung a small leak. I tryed to re-heat it and add solder, but the existing solder doesnt re-melt, and the new solder wont stick to the old. How do I fix it?

sounds like you have water in your joints/pipe. upon heating the joint the water turns to steam then it cools your joint. Sure way to repair is remove joint clean pipe with emery or steel wool then install new joint after draining lines. good luck Doug in the woods

thanks doug. how do I get the joint apart? I can drian most of the water out by opening valves above and below it (I hope). Do I just bang on it untill it comes apart? JimS
