Dishwasher Air Vent

To Colleen, dishwasher vent. No vent should ever be plugged Or capped off unless it is being moved away from its original rough plumbing. What is happening to your plumbing to make you think you should cap it off?Mark Tiernan Tiernan Bros. Plbg. Gary In. USA

Thanks Roger and Mark for your replies. When my dishwasher is draining it is coming out of the vent. I was just wondering out important this vent is, but I see now that it is. Thanks again.
