SPINNING BOLT ON TOILET MOUNT

If you cant grab the bolt below the nut with a pair of needlenose pliers, you could try cutting a slot in the end of the bolt so you could grab it with a narrow straight screwdriver. If none of the above work, grab the nut with a pair of pliers and cut off the bolt with a hacksaw, (quickest)if the hacksaw blade is going to rub on the porcelain, put some thin cardboard under it to prevent scratching….Lou

I usually put a screwdriver blade under the washer and twist so that it pulls the bolt up. The head of the bolt is in a recess and forcing it up often lets the recess grab the bolt so you can unscrew the nut.: IS THERE ANY EASY WAY TO REMOVE A BOLT THAT JUST WANTS TO SPIN. I AM TRYING TO REMOVE A TOILET, TO FINISH TILING THE BATHROOM FLOOR AND HAVE HIT A SNAG. ONE OF THE BOLTS THAT HOLDS THE TOILET TO THE FLOOR JUST SPINS WHEN I TRY TO TAKE THE BOLT OFF..
