We have a 40 year old house and several of the toilets flush on their own about 8-10 times an hour. What is causing this and what can we do to fix the problem? Thank you

I have a McPherson basement toilet with a twin flush valve. Had it a long time and it has worked very well…heavely used. I need some parts and can not locate McPherson. They were located (and maybe still are but their phone is disconnected) at 4020 W. South Ave., Tampa, FL.Does someone know what happened to them and/or where I can find them? Maybe someone bought them out or possibly bought the rights to the twin flush valve?Would appreciate any help in the matter. Thank you.

Just about the only thing that can go wrong with the flush valve is the rubber gasket disintegrates spewing water from the vacuum bottle. A new gasket can be made by buying a flat sheet of rubber from a hardware store and cutting your own. I ordered this part a number of years ago and when it arrived I was amazed to see what it was and felt foolish that I hadnt replaced the part myself. I have no idea whether the company still exists or not.

i am looking for the rubber piece that goes on the top of the value (in the back of the toilet). it connets the discharge piece of plastic to the pipe in the wall. no one seems to carry it. it looks like it is screwed onto the plastic and held on by a band of metal. OR DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE UP UP? ANY HELD WOULD BE APPRECIATED spencer
