We just realized that one of our main bathrooms does not have a fan vent. As a result, wallpaper peels at the edge, ceiling paint is flaking etc. There is a light fixture above the tub. Do we need a plumber to install a fan/light fixture where there is now only a light? Where will the fan vent to?Thanks

So I dont think this is a good option. I think you need to SUE the home builder/GC for leaving out a bathroom vent as required by all model codes. If you have a window in the room you can A- leave it slightly open from the top when showering B- Install a small exhaust fan on either side of this window OR above it
