I am trying to join outdoor metal pipe to a plastic connection. The end of the metal pipe has been cut off & has no threads. When i add a connection to the end of the pipe i still get a leak.I have put pipe goop & other glues but still get this slight leak.Is there a solution or do i have to rethread?Any help is appreciated. thanks, gary.
You have to have a thread on the metal pipe to make any kind of permanent connection. : : I am trying to join outdoor metal pipe to a plastic connection. The end of the metal pipe has been cut off & has no threads. When i : add a connection to the end of the pipe i still get a leak.I have put pipe goop & other glues but still get this slight leak.Is there a solution or do i have to rethread?Any help is appreciated. : thanks, gary.
: Dont know about in the USA, but over here we have a fitting called a malco union. Its a compression fitting for galvanised pipe.Thats what I was referring too, we would call it a dresser ftg. here.
