Can anyone give me a good reason, with facts to back it up, not to use a Manabloc system to replumb my house.

Bill:–The ultimate decision is yours… so here are a few observations from an old Plumber. Pex (Trade name for one of many HDPE Polyethylene pipe offerings in todays market) like its recently departed predesessor Polybutylene, does not have a track record long enough to induce me to use it. I would not hesitate to use this material underground or below grade where it would not be subject to the elements…rodents and gnawing critters…and Oxidation or deterioration from UV radiation. Copper is such a superior choice for this application that there really no comparison of the obvious merits. True, copper may need a little help to deliver its full potential of 100 years or more of trouble free service. But that is easily provided by the incorporation of an easily installed Sacrificial Anode into the water piping system……Bud…Can anyone give me a good reason, with facts to back it up, not to use a Manabloc system to replumb my house.
