I live in a singlewide mobile home, in older park. Three weeks ago main water line to park was broken, water presssure down in entire park for four days. It was patched with cement and they put rocks on top of the break. It is still leaking but water pressure is back to normal. Shortly after it was “fixed” I noticed a terrible ordor from the master bath. It comes and goes and is the worst at night. The ordor seems to improve when I put baking soda and vinegar down the drains. The park claims it is the wax seal around the toliet. Could this be the problem or something else. I don’t seem to smell it from the drains but comming up from beneath the mobile home. When I remove the skirtting in that area the smell is very strong. What should be my next step? I don’t have a great deal of money so I need to fix this the first time.

First thing that is not the way to fix a broken water line, the old pipe should be cut out and a new piece installed, the way they fixed the pipe is bad for your health you could get sick from con taminated water, call the local health dept. and report it. As far as the smell it coild be wax ring, are it could be loose are bad connection to the sewer under trailer, sounds like you live in a park where anything goes wheater it is right are wrong, better have and inspecter come out and look over park, let me know what happens.

Could be the seal around the base of the toilet. One way to check is to do a peppermint test in the vents.

            Good Luck
