        I live in a 100+ year old house that frequently has water in the basement. I want to install a submersible sump pump ( I have pets which I don’t want to be able to get to it) but I am unsure about how to build the sump itself… I imagine is should have gravel on the bottom, but what should the sides be like? I know I’ll have to control dirt/debris from entering the pump, etc.

        Any help (and please be specific!) would be greatly appreciated!
