        Where can the water be leaking from when they flush the toilet on the second floor of a two family dwelling(house)? This dwelling, by the way had been unoccupied for about a year!

          It depends on what type of pipes are installed. Old cast-iron, for example, can develop cracks if it does not have water running through it periodically, but remains in contact with the humid air from the sewer system
