We have a Rinnai Infinity 24 instantaneous hot water service, with a remote temperature control unit, that allows the temperature to be adjusted between 50 & 55 degrees C. In winter the shower being a distance from the unit is too cold. Does anyone know how to increase the maximum temperature that the unit can be set to?

hoggy. Your profile tells me that you are from Orange in NSW. First of all I am from the Whitsundays in Qld & I follow the Marroons in State of Origen so serves yourself right. Seriously though It sounds that your Temperature pad is situated fairly remote from the shower. In NSW & most of Australia it is law for any new installation to have ablutionary fixtures tempered to 50deg. No Plumber is going to advise you to change or boost the temp to above the regulated temp. Get a thermometer & hold the bulb in the shower stream as close as possible to the rose, if it is not at 50deg call a gasfitter, or move to a warmer climate ( but barrack for the Marroons!) ie When in Rome

Good luck in all of the above.
          Bob

Being an authorised service agent for Rinnai is part of my business operation and I can safely advise that I can effect temperature changes by altering settings within the heater itself – but for personal safety and warranty reasons I will not devulge to a customer how these changes (apart from the keypads ) can be undertaken within the unit.
I beleive the answer you have received from Robert (allbeit that he is one of them Queenlanders!!!) is right on the money – the pipe run is too far from the machine and the heat loss from the non insulated pipework is adding to the problem. If you set the keypad to 55 and run the unit it will eventually achieve that temperature at the shower but it will take a long time to do it because of what we have told you.

I have a Rinnai Infinity 26 instantaneous hot water service without any remote temperature control units, I am very dissapointed with the 50 degree output limit, I think it is stupid that the government can regulate this sort of thing, aren’t we all big people here, C’mon!!

I know the DIP switches inside the cover of the unit can be adjusted to give a higher output temperature, I have a copy of the standard switch settings, can someone please explain what each switch does, I know any authorised service agents will not be able to help but if there is anyone else who can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Because I am resident in New Zealand and a Rinnai Service Agent as well as a lot of other things!!! it would be improper for me to advise through this medium of the “dip settings” to change temperatures – just in case someone gets one of them incorrect and does some serious damage or worse.
My honest advice to you is to ring your local Rinnai helpline and ask them to step you through the settings – you will first have to give them the exact model and serial number of the Infinity you are speaking about. The model and serial numbers are written on the data plate on the left hand side panel as you face the machine – the model should start with REU……..
