I am moving back into a house that has not had gas for 3 years. I am replacing the stove and refrig in the kitchen. I want to move the stove out but it hs a flexible metal pipe the gas came through. Should I plug the hole until the new stove is connected? There is no gas coming through no fumes because it has been off for so long.

Commonsense and good trade practice must prevail here – NEVER leave a used or unused gas pipe end joint unsealed – NEVER EVER.
