Pilot light on the (natural)gas wall heater is noisy (loud enough to keep me up at night). Sounds like rushing air, miniature jet-liner or that sound of water running through the pipes in some other part of the house. No problems with ignition and thermostat. Pilot and thermocouple were just replaced. How can I quiet it down?
A pilot light can make noise by “blowtorching”. The noise is produced by high velocity gas. If a propane gas orifice is installed instead of a natural gas orifice, the pilot regulation screw has to be adjusted to push gas more rapidly through the orifice, this can be noisy.
