My pipes have recently started making a knocking noise beneath the house when the water filling the reserve on both toilets turns off or when the water turns off to the washing machine in the garage. I recently had my sewer line replaced, though nothing under the house. I also replaced both the filling mechanisms in both toilets so that is all new. Any idea why this is suddenly happening? I suspect it has something to do with the filling mechanisms since they started on each toilet shortly after I replaced them (at different times) but I can’t explain the washing machine with this line of reasoning. My pipes are suspended under the house when I crawl under there. Could it be that the new mechanisms shut the water off so quickly that it causes the pipes to move and bang against the floor beams? Thanks in advance for any help.
Sounds like you have a lot of Water Press. Do you have PRV on main water line, if you haave turn it down, if you dont have one better have Plumber come in and put one in. Also sounds like you have some loose water lines in hanger that needs rehanging, try that first. let me know.
