We have just bought a house in Germantown, MD. It has PB plumbing. I have set up 3 estimate appointments for the day we move in for a complete repipe. My question is, “will the repipe help our terrible water pressure”? Our home inspector said it might because the PB tubing in the crawl is just hanging down not affixed to the floor joists. I am wondering if I should have a “pressure booster” installed as part of the repipe. Any ideas? Thanks!

I would venture to say that in your situation there is probably restrictions in the valves in the PB piping system. When you remove the entire system you will probably not have any problems.
The plumber should be testing the water pressure @ the meter or where it enters the house to determine what your pressure is. Post back what your pressure is; 60 is normal, 80 is high. You could have high water pressure and not realize it since there are restrictions in the piping system.

When Plumber puts in new valves tell him you want full port valves like Gate are Lever Handle valves. no cheap compression valves. they have obstruction in them.
