After I applied water to a newly plumbed outdoor faucet, I noticed a spot in a coupling that didn’t get completley soldered. Whats the easiest way to re-sweat the pipe now that there is water in it. When I reapply the torch the fitting justs spits at me and never really gets hot enough melt the solder. Thanks Rick
You need to drain the water from the pipe. You will never be able to solder the joint while the fitting has water in it. If you are lucky you may be able to reheat the dry joint and seal it with extra solder. Otherwise you will have to take the joint apart, clean it up, and re-solder the joint.
